Professional and Creative Communication Projects 2014-2015
PCCP is my final year project in English Studies. My group chose project A as our host organisation since it claimed to be specialised in art and cultural projects, which we found closely related to our study concentration. As creative professions stream students, we learnt how to produce a variety of creative texts from poetry to literature in digital age. We tried to apply different styles and techniques in writing for our host such as promotional writing, reports and marketing proposals.
Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Music Festival 2014 and First Edition of Dutch Days in Hong Kong were two major events that I have worked on in the project. Being responsible for multimedia and photography, I worked closely with my host in order to deliver quality website designs, photos or videos. We held meetings with our host and target organisations in order to learn about the events and get things ready. Our team then assigned ourselves to be responsible for certain tasks that we are good at. Another teammate and I dealt mainly with design and multimedia tasks including web design and photo-taking and filming. Apart from sitting in front of a computer clicking and typing, our team were present in most events and some others that our host suggested us to join. We provided on-site help to receive, usher and mingle with guests
Our team was the only one that applied any element of latest technological trends to our exhibition board. We integrated augmented reality (AR) to our board. We learnt about a company called Layar which allows us to add AR elements to any static images and printed materials. Many visitors were amazed by the technology and how much more content we were showing that could not otherwise be possible. Scan the exhibition board image above with Layar (iOS/Android) and experience rich AR content.
